Me Me Lai, also known as Me Me Lay, is a former actress born in Burma in 1952. She is the daughter of a Burmese mother and an English father. In her teenage years, she relocated to England, where she embarked on her acting journey, initially appearing in television series such as Paul Temple and Jason King. In 1971, she transitioned to film, debuting in the horror flick Crucible of Terror, followed by a role in 1972's Au Pair Girls.

Lai gained prominence during the Italian cannibal film craze, securing leading roles in two iconic movies: Il Paese del Sesso Selvaggio (1972) directed by Umberto Lenzi and Ultimo Mondo Cannibale (1977) by Ruggero Deodato, where she famously portrayed a character who meets a gruesome fate at the hands of cannibals. She later appeared in Mangiati Vivi (1980), also directed by Lenzi, which included a reprise of her death scene from Ultimo Mondo Cannibale. Beyond the horror genre, she featured in Blake Edwards's 1978 comedy Revenge of the Pink Panther.

In addition to her film work, Me Me Lai co-hosted British game shows such as The Golden Shot and Sale of the Century, and she appeared in the 1970s program Origami alongside Robert Harbin. Her final film appearance came in 1984 with Lars von Trier's The Element of Crime, marking the end of her notable career in entertainment.
