1 title Acting Dec 16, 1926 Died: Feb 27, 1989 Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico

Mauricio Féres Yázbek, widely recognized as Mauricio Garcés, was a prominent Mexican actor born on December 16, 1926, in Tampico, Tamaulipas, to Lebanese parents. His entry into the entertainment world was facilitated by his uncle, producer Jose Yázbek, who cast him in the comedy "La muerte enamorada" (1950) alongside stars Miroslava and Fernando Fernandez. It was during this time that he adopted the stage name "Garcés," believing the initial "G" would bring him the fortune and stardom akin to his idols Clark Gable, Gary Cooper, and Cary Grant.

Garcés became synonymous with sophistication and charm, a persona cultivated by producer Angelica Ortiz, who recognized his potential. He achieved widespread acclaim through his role as "Mauricio Galán" in "Don Juan 67" (1966), which marked the beginning of a successful series of films where he showcased his signature style. His notable works include popular titles such as "El matrimonio es como el demonio" (1967), "Click, fotógrafo de modelos" (1968), "El criado malcriado" (1968), "Departamento de soltero" (1969), "Fray Don Juan" (1969), and "Modisto de señoras" (1969).

With a rich filmography, Garcés earned the affectionate nickname "El Zorro Plateado" (The Silver Fox) and left an indelible mark on Mexican cinema before his passing on February 27, 1989. His legacy continues to resonate with fans of classic film.
