Sándor Badár

1 title Acting Feb 08, 1964 Jászberény, Hungary

Sándor Badár, born on February 8, 1964, in Jászberény, is a distinguished Hungarian actor and comedian, recognized for his unique contributions to contemporary Hungarian cinema. He honed his theatrical skills at the Horváth Mihály Gymnasium in Szentes, where he was classmates with notable figures such as Tamás Hevesi, Zoltán Ternyák, and Csaba Jantyik. After completing his education, Badár spent over a decade working for the railway, initially as a signalman and later as a traffic controller.

Currently residing in Horány, he also engages in children's horseback riding activities. Badár is celebrated for his one-of-a-kind humor and improvisational skills, which have made him a standout figure in the Hungarian film industry. A close friend of fellow artist András Szőke, he frequently collaborates with him on various projects. Rather than memorizing lines, Badár often improvises during filming, showcasing his natural comedic talent.

Since 2003, he has been a prominent performer at Dumaszínház and occasionally appears on the Fábry Show. Notably, he set an unofficial record by speaking for seven and a half hours at the Szegedi Ifjúsági Napok. He has also featured alongside Szőke in numerous commercial advertisements. Badár's son, Tamás, has followed in his footsteps as a magician. Humble about his craft, he describes himself as a "noteworthy artist" but insists that his identity encompasses more than just acting.
