Dara Singh Randhawa, widely known as Dara Singh, was a multifaceted Indian talent who made significant contributions as a professional wrestler, actor, director, and politician. Notably, he became the first sports figure to be appointed to the Rajya Sabha, the upper chamber of India's Parliament, reflecting his prominence in both sports and public life.

Throughout his career, Singh was deeply involved in the Hindi and Punjabi film industries, where he made his mark not just as an actor but also as a producer, director, and writer. His portrayal of Hanuman in the 1976 film "Bajrangbali" and in Ramanand Sagar’s television adaptation of "Ramayan" earned him widespread acclaim and a dedicated fan base.
