Ben Witherington

Ben Witherington III is a distinguished New Testament scholar from the Wesleyan-Arminian tradition. He serves as the Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Asbury Theological Seminary, located in Wilmore, Kentucky, and is an ordained minister within the United Methodist Church. With over 60 published works to his name, Dr. Witherington has made significant contributions to biblical scholarship, particularly through his detailed commentaries on every book of the New Testament.

Among his notable publications are *The Gospel Code: Novel Claims About Jesus, Mary Magdalene and Da Vinci* (2004), *The Problem With Evangelical Theory: Testing the Exegetical Foundations of Calvinism, Dispensationalism, and Wesleyanism* (2005), and *The New Testament Story* (2004). His influential book, *The Jesus Quest: The Third Search for the Jew of Nazareth* (1995), was recognized as the best biblical studies work of that year by both *Christianity Today* and the Academy of Parish Clergy.
