Juan José Ballesta
Juan José Ballesta made his television debut at the tender age of 8 in the series ‘Querido maestro’ in 1997, featuring alongside Imanol Arias. Just two years later, he joined the cast of the popular show ‘Compañeros’. However, it was in 2000 that he truly captured the public's attention when he landed the lead role in Achero Mañas' poignant film ‘El bola’. This performance earned him the Goya Award for Best New Actor, marking a significant milestone in his career.
In 2003, Ballesta showcased his talent in ‘Planta 4ª’, a film directed by Antonio Mercero, where he played a young boy battling cancer, demonstrating remarkable emotional depth. After a brief hiatus from the film industry, he made a strong comeback in 2005 with ‘7 vírgenes’, for which he received the Concha de Plata for Best Actor at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
Continuing to build on his impressive career, Ballesta starred in the historical drama ‘Bruc. El desafío’ in 2010. He also returned to television, joining the ensemble cast of the historical series ‘Hispania’, where he portrayed the character Paulo. Through a combination of compelling performances and diverse roles, Juan José Ballesta has established himself as a prominent figure in Spanish cinema and television.
