Hailing from a family of actors—his parents being Maria Tzompanaki and Dinos Avgoustidis—he pursued his passion for acting by graduating from the Drama School of the National Theatre, followed by film studies at the New York Film Academy.

Avgoustidis made his cinematic debut in 2005 with the film "Loofa and Variation: Sirens in the Aegean," directed by Nikos Perrakis. His television career took off with the series "Loofa and Variation: The Series" during the 2006-2007 season, where he portrayed soldier Giannis Papadopoulos.
