Des Coleman
Desune Franklin "Des" Coleman, born on March 14, 1969, is a multifaceted British talent recognized for his work as an actor, singer, and weather presenter. He honed his craft at the Guildford School of Acting in Surrey and gained fame for his portrayal of Lenny Wallace in the beloved BBC soap opera EastEnders.
Coleman’s career took a turn in 2007 when he began serving as a standby weather presenter for Laura Tobin on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. He later took on the role of weather presenter for BBC's East Midlands Today, although his tenure there ended in 2011. In 2016, he found a new home at ITV Central, where he currently presents the weather for ITV News Central, delivering forecasts to viewers at 6:00 PM across the Midlands.
Despite facing personal challenges, including a prison stint in his twenties and a battle with a form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma while in acting school—an illness he has since overcome—Coleman’s resilience shines through. His life took another difficult turn in November 2018 when he experienced a bowel hemorrhage that required surgery and a brief stay on life support. Remarkably, he made a full recovery by February 2019 and has continued to thrive in his career, showcasing his dedication and passion for his work.
