Julia Pott
Julia Pott, born on June 13, 1985, is a multifaceted British talent known for her contributions as an animator, illustrator, screenwriter, producer, and voice actress. She is the creative force behind the animated series Summer Camp Island, which aired on Cartoon Network and features her voice as the character Susie McCallister.
Raised with an American mother, Pott's childhood summers in The Hamptons fueled her passion for art. By the age of six, she was already expressing her desire to become a cartoonist, with aspirations of working for Disney. She pursued her artistic education with a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from Chelsea College of Arts in 2004, followed by a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Animation and Illustration from Kingston University, graduating in 2007. During her time at Kingston, her short animation My First Crush garnered significant attention, amassing nearly 1.5 million views on YouTube by 2012.
After graduation, she crafted animated content for bands like The Decemberists and Bat for Lashes, later earning a Master’s degree in Animation from the Royal College of Art. There, she directed the acclaimed shorts Howard (2010) and Belly (2011).
Pott's work has been showcased at prestigious festivals including Sundance and SXSW. Following her role as a writer on Adventure Time, she created Summer Camp Island, inspired by her earlier short film of the same name. In November 2021, she joined production studio Hornet, expressing interest in expanding her artistic reach into fashion and textiles.
