Jiang Wenli
Jiang Wenli was born into an intellectually enriched environment, with her father serving as a railroad engineer and her mother as a railroad telephone operator. Growing up amidst a love for literature and the arts, she was encouraged to explore various forms of creative expression from a young age. Although she aspired to be a gymnast at age five, her physical stature did not meet the sport's competitive standards, leading her to spend five years as an informal member of the Bengbu City gymnastics team.
After taking the college entrance examination at 17 and initially aiming for a normal university, she enrolled in a water conservation secondary school due to a slight gap in her scores. Upon graduating in 1986, she worked at the Bengbu City Water Company, focusing on water transportation design. Unfulfilled in her career, she moved to Beijing in 1988, where she was accepted into the prestigious Beijing Film Academy.
Jiang's film career began with a notable role as a nursery school teacher in *The Lily on Cliff*, which garnered a Feitian TV Award. She further established her reputation in movies like *Li Li Yuan Shang Cao* and *The Story of Xing Hua*. After a period in America, she returned to China to star in the acclaimed *Farewell My Concubine*, which won the Best Movie Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Her performance in the 1999 series *Lead by the Hand* earned her Best Actress honors at both the Golden Eagle and Feitian TV Awards. Her remarkable career continued with awards for her roles in *Team Spirit* and the 2011 hit *When Happiness Knocks*, which achieved top ratings on CCTV-1, solidifying her status as a leading figure in Chinese entertainment.
