Kim DeLonghi, originally named Kimberly Marlene Backman, hails from Pickering, Ontario, and grew up in Thunder Bay, Canada, in a middle-class family. In 1982, her family relocated to Thornhill, just outside of Toronto, where she spent her formative years before pursuing a degree in English Literature at the University of Ottawa. Kim's mother, Marlene, built a career in banking, while her father, now retired, transitioned from commercial building to owning a hardwood flooring business. Kim met her husband in 1991 and tied the knot in 1997.

Despite her early passion for acting, it wasn't until she raised her three children that she fully pursued her dreams in the performing arts. She gained recognition for her role in the acclaimed series *The Handmaid's Tale*, marking the beginning of her successful career. Her filmography expanded with appearances in notable projects such as *New Year’s Kiss*, *Beyond the Law* alongside Steven Seagal and DMX, and *10 Double Zero* featuring Nicolas Cage. Other significant roles include *The Last Son* with MGK, *Castle Falls* alongside Dolph Lundgren, and *Marlowe* with Liam Neeson.

In addition to acting, Kim has ventured into executive production, with her company, K Productions, gaining momentum in the industry through various projects from 2020 to 2022. Away from the screen, she enjoys traveling to enhance her knowledge of acting and production, as well as exploring global design and architecture, which informs her property development endeavors in Canada and the U.S. Kim divides her time between Toronto and Los Angeles, where she continues to thrive in both acting and producing.
