Catherine Vernice Glover (July 24, 1962 – September 24, 2024) was a multifaceted American artist known for her exceptional talents as a choreographer, dancer, singer, and rapper. Raised in the North Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago before moving to Morgan Park at the age of ten, Glover was the youngest of four daughters born to Mildred Taylor and Doneall Glover.

Her artistic journey began early; by the age of five, she was performing with her sisters in a group named the Soullettes. Glover's significant breakthrough came when she appeared on the talent competition show "Star Search" as part of the duo "Pat & Cat," where she made history by achieving a perfect score of four stars. Her dynamic performance style, particularly her signature dance move called "Cat Scat," captured the audience's admiration.

Glover gained widespread recognition for her collaboration with the legendary Prince during the late 1980s, contributing her choreography and vocal talents to several of his projects, including the iconic concert film "Sign o' the Times." She also rapped on tracks like "Cindy C." and "Alphabet St." Despite plans for a solo album on Paisley Park, the project was ultimately shelved.

In 1989, she released her own EP titled "Catwoman" and continued her creative pursuits in London and Los Angeles, collaborating with artists such as Tim Simenon and Louie Louie. A devoted mother of four, Glover passed away at home in Los Angeles on September 24, 2024, at the age of 62, with her death attributed to congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
