Arduíno Colassanti

Arduino Colasanti (February 15, 1936 – February 22, 2014) was an Italian-born Brazilian actor renowned for his contributions to the Cinema Novo movement in Brazil during the 1960s and 1970s. With a vibrant career that spanned four decades, Colasanti is best remembered for his captivating role as the titular character in the 1971 film "Como Era Gostoso o Meu Francês" (How Tasty Was My Little Frenchman).

Recognized as one of the prominent leading men of Cinema Novo, his striking blond hair and blue eyes set him apart in a dynamic film landscape. Colasanti collaborated with some of Brazil's most influential directors, including Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Leon Hirszman, Walter Lima Jr., Joaquim Pedro de Andrade, Tereza Trautman, and Luiz Carlos Lacerda, contributing to the rich narrative and artistic developments of the era.

Originally hailing from Livorno, Italy, Colasanti was also an enthusiastic surfer and a pioneer in aquatic photography in Brazil, capturing the essence of the ocean and its culture. In his later years, he settled in Niterói, where he continued to live until his passing in 2014. His legacy endures in Brazilian cinema, leaving an indelible mark on the industry and inspiring future generations of filmmakers and actors alike.
