John Robert Hoffman is a multifaceted American actor, screenwriter, director, and producer known for his diverse contributions to film and television. He first gained recognition for his work on the Disney Channel original movie *Northern Lights* in 1997, where he not only acted but also penned the screenplay.

Hoffman's feature film directorial debut came with the MGM/Jim Henson Pictures comedy *Good Boy!* in 2003, which he also wrote.
