Douglas Horne
Douglas P. Horne is a distinguished former officer of the United States Navy whose career spans both military service and civil service roles. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Ohio State University in 1974. Horne dedicated a decade to the Navy, serving as a junior Surface Line Officer from 1975 to 1985. Following his military service, he transitioned into Navy Civil Service, assuming the role of Operations Manager at a field office in Pearl Harbor, where he focused on providing logistical support for anti-submarine warfare vessels.
In August 1995, Horne took on a pivotal role as an analyst with the Military Records Team of the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) in Washington, DC. His expertise and dedication led to his promotion as Chief Analyst for Military Records, a position he held until the board concluded its work in September 1998. Afterward, he became the Manager of the Visitor Services Branch at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, where he worked for over two years, enhancing public engagement with the museum’s mission. Later, Horne transitioned to the State Department, serving as a Passport Specialist at the Washington Passport Agency, where he continued to contribute to public service. Throughout his career, Horne has demonstrated a commitment to both national service and historical preservation.
