Denis Akiyama
Denis Van Akiyama (May 28, 1952 – June 28, 2018) was a prominent Japanese-Canadian actor and voice artist, celebrated for his dynamic contributions to both film and television. Akiyama is perhaps best recognized for lending his voice to iconic characters such as Iceman/Bobby Drake, Silver Samurai/Kenuichio Harada, and Sunfire in the beloved animated series X-Men. He also voiced Malachite in the original English adaptation of Sailor Moon, showcasing his versatility in the realm of animation.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Akiyama's career included notable guest appearances, such as his role in the television series Katts and Dog. In 2015, he made a memorable appearance in the feature film Pixels, further solidifying his presence in the entertainment industry. Beyond acting, Akiyama was an accomplished musician, showcasing his talent as a trumpet player with The Pukka Orchestra.
