Amanda Jane Stern

Amanda Jane Stern, a multifaceted talent hailing from New York City, has made her mark as a writer, actress, and producer. Her journey in the performing arts began at the tender age of nine, landing a role as a Shakespeare-loving Brownie Scout in the quirky comedy "Martin and Orloff." Her passion for acting flourished throughout her childhood and adolescence.

Stern took a brief hiatus from her acting career to pursue higher education at Brandeis University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film, Television and Interactive Media, as well as Theater Arts. It was during her time there that she unearthed a deep-seated passion for writing and directing. Her senior thesis, "Coerced: A Documentary Play," garnered attention when it was featured on NPR; the play poignantly depicted the harrowing experience of a teenage girl who faced illegal police interrogation and was coerced into confessing to a murder.

Upon graduation, Stern quickly re-entered the entertainment world, landing a supporting role in the Lifetime movie "Amish Witches: The True Story of Holmes County," and taking the helm as director for the 9-episode musical-comedy web series "In Retrospect."

Her film "Perfectly Good Moment," which she wrote, produced, and starred in, explores the complex dynamics of a toxic relationship between 27-year-old Ruby and 42-year-old David. The film features Broadway's Stephen Carlile and marks the narrative feature film debut of director Lauren Greenhall.
