Timothy Alistair Telemachus Hetherington (December 5, 1970 – April 20, 2011) was a distinguished British-American photojournalist renowned for his innovative approach to storytelling through multiple mediums. His diverse body of work spanned from immersive multi-screen installations to dynamic fly-poster exhibitions and digital content designed for handheld devices.
Hetherington gained significant acclaim for co-directing the powerful documentary film *Restrepo* (2010) alongside Sebastian Junger. This poignant portrayal of soldiers deployed in Afghanistan captured the raw realities of war and earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2011, solidifying his status in the film industry.
