Shin Ha-kyun
Shin Ha-kyun (신하균) is a prominent South Korean actor born on May 30, 1974. He began his artistic journey as a stage actor after training at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, transitioning to film where he quickly gained recognition. His breakout role came in 2000 with the critically acclaimed film Joint Security Area (JSA), where he portrayed a North Korean soldier. The film was a sensational hit, attracting 5 million viewers domestically, and earned Shin the prestigious Blue Dragon Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Following the success of JSA, Shin showcased his versatility through a series of notable performances in films such as Guns & Talks (2001), Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), and Save the Green Planet! (2003). His leading role in Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005) further solidified his status as a star, with the film amassing 8 million admissions domestically.
More recently, Shin appeared in the blockbuster hits The Thieves (2012) and Extreme Job (2019), which became the second-largest successes in Korean film history at their respective times, garnering 12 million and 16 million admissions.
