Jim MacGeorge
James Andrew MacGeorge (October 15, 1928 – January 16, 2021) was a talented American voice actor and writer, also known by the names Jim McGeorge and James MacGeorge. His illustrious career in animation earned him widespread recognition, particularly for his memorable voice performances.
Among his most notable roles were Beany Boy and Uncle Captain Horatio K. Huffenpuff from the beloved series Beany and Cecil, as well as Stan Laurel in the animated adaptations of Laurel and Hardy. MacGeorge's versatility shone through in various other characters, including Crazy Claws in The Kwicky Koala Show, Bort in The Mighty Orbots, Wimper in Clue Club, and Dr. Wilmer Scarab in Bionic Six. His contributions extended beyond voice acting, as he also served as a writer for the renowned Jay Ward Productions.
In addition to his voice work, MacGeorge made appearances in live-action television, portraying Stan Laurel in the spy comedy Get Smart, as well as appearing in shows like Semi-Tough and Happy Days. He also appeared in the cult classic film Teenagers from Outer Space.
Later in his career, he reprised his role as Uncle Captain Huffenpuff in The New Adventures of Beany and Cecil, produced by DiC Entertainment and directed by the acclaimed John Kricfalusi, known for his work on The Ren and Stimpy Show. MacGeorge's legacy in the entertainment industry continues to be celebrated by fans and peers alike.
