Wanjiru M. Njendu is a talented Director, Writer, and Producer of Kenyan heritage, currently residing in Los Angeles. Her passion for storytelling was ignited during her childhood in Kenya, where she often entertained her siblings and friends by reenacting iconic scenes from beloved American films such as E.T., Superman, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars, which earned her the affectionate nickname “Magic.”
Wanjiru’s filmography includes a number of significant projects, with her most personal work being “Look Again,” which garnered a nomination for the 2012 African Movie Academy Award and won the Best Diaspora Film award at the Kalasha Awards in Kenya. Her television credits feature appearances in popular series such as “Samantha Who,” “Super Temps,” and “Mostly Evil.”
In addition to her film and television work, Wanjiru directed red carpet interviews for Women In Film’s 5th Annual Pre-Oscar party and participated in a live taping of the SAG-AFTRA and Women In Film Q&A panel for the film MISSRepresentation, showcasing her commitment to promoting female voices in the industry. Her unique cultural background significantly shapes her artistic vision, blending African and American influences in her projects. For the past four years, she has benefited from the mentorship of acclaimed Director Jon Amiel, further honing her craft in the competitive world of film and television.
