She later relocated to Beirut with her family, where she pursued her passion for the arts at the Lebanese University of Fine Arts, specializing in acting and directing. In addition to her acting career, she ventured into modeling, gaining recognition for her striking presence. In 1996, she took on the role of a broadcaster at the Lebanese National Television, further solidifying her connection to the entertainment industry. However, Maya's true passion lay in music. In 1999, she entered the competitive realm of singing by participating in the television talent show Stars Cup, where she made headlines by winning three cups.

Her success in Stars Cup marked a turning point, allowing her to carve a niche for herself as both a singer and an actress.
