Winston Sterzel

Winston Sterzel, originally from South Africa, embarked on an adventurous journey to China in his twenties. He began his professional path in 2016 by dedicating himself to vlogging, creating engaging YouTube content that introduces Western audiences to the intricacies of life and travel in China. His mission is to bridge cultural gaps and provide insights for those looking to visit or reside in the country.

In addition to his cultural explorations, Sterzel has a passion for motorcycling, which inspired him to document his extensive road trips across China. Partnering with fellow vlogger Matthew Tye (known as C-Milk and Laowhy86) and other friends, he produced the acclaimed documentary series "Conquering Southern China" and "Conquering Northern China." To finance these ambitious projects, he and Tye successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign, allowing them to expand their journeys and create more comprehensive episodes.

Winston co-hosts the popular YouTube channel ADVChina with Tye, where they share their adventures and insights about motorcycle travel in the region. Additionally, as of January 2015, he served as the head engineer at Churchill Custom Motorcycles, a custom motorcycle business he co-founded with Tye and another associate. Through his innovative work and engaging storytelling, Sterzel has become a significant voice in the online community, promoting a deeper understanding of China.
