Marianne Hettinger, hailing from Augsburg, Germany, embarked on her journey to New York City after graduating high school, arriving with only $800 and no connections. Her passion for the performing arts led her to secure scholarships in acting, directing, and dance at prestigious institutions, including the National Shakespeare Conservatory and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Over the years, she has evolved into an award-winning filmmaker, accomplished actor, and professional Ballroom Dance Champion, gracing stages on Broadway and appearing in both film and television, as well as performing with symphony orchestras across the United States and Canada.

As a filmmaker, Hettinger has made her mark with two feature films: “Mango Tango” and the forthcoming “Prince Harming,” currently in post-production. She has also created several short films, such as “Saint Vitus Dance,” “Strad For Lunch,” and “Homeless in Washington.” In addition, she developed a unique TV talk show format, “Hallo New York,” featuring 13 episodes of interviews with intriguing New Yorkers.

Her acting credits span over 20 films, including Tim Robbins’ “The Cradle Will Rock,” and she made a notable appearance in CBS’s “As The World Turns.” Hettinger also showcased her talents in a one-person show, “Heaven & Earth,” and performed a memorable duet with Antonio Banderas on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” where she was invited back multiple times.

Since 2005, she has led the only comprehensive ballroom dance program at the New York Health & Racquet Club, while also teaching at renowned institutions such as American Ballet Theatre and Alvin Ailey. Hettinger has coached numerous celebrities, including Idina Menzel and Ann Hampton Callaway. With dual citizenship, she currently resides in New York City, cherishing the opportunities her new home provides.
