Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
Nikolaj William Coster-Waldau, born on July 27, 1970, is a prominent Danish actor and producer. After graduating from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen in 1993, his career gained momentum with his breakthrough role in the 1994 Danish film Nightwatch. He is perhaps best known globally for his portrayal of Jaime Lannister in the acclaimed HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, a performance that earned him two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Coster-Waldau's filmography includes a variety of notable Danish films, such as Headhunters (2011) and A Thousand Times Good Night (2013). In the United States, he made his film debut in the 2001 war epic Black Hawk Down, where he portrayed Medal of Honor recipient Gary Gordon. His television credits also include the short-lived Fox series New Amsterdam (2008) and the 2009 television film Virtuality, which was initially intended as a pilot.
In addition to his acting career, Coster-Waldau is an active UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, advocating for critical global issues such as gender equality and climate change. Through his work, he has made a significant impact beyond the screen, amplifying important social causes.
