Barbara Bach
Barbara Ann Goldbach, widely known as Barbara Bach, was born on August 27, 1947, in Queens, New York, to parents Howard and Marjorie Goldbach. The eldest of five siblings, Barbara's father served as a police officer. While working as a model in New York, she met Augusto Gregorini, an Italian businessman, in 1966. Their romance blossomed, leading Barbara to Italy, where they were married in 1968. Together, they had two children, Francesca (born 1969) and Gian Andrea (born 1972). Unfortunately, Gian Andrea faced health challenges at birth, being diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but later surgery significantly improved his condition.
Barbara's acting career began in Italy with the TV mini-series Odissea in 1968, where she was credited as Barbara Gregorini. She gained recognition through various giallo and horror films, including Black Belly of the Tarantula (1971) and Street Law (1974). After relocating to Los Angeles in the mid-1970s, she and Gregorini separated, finalizing their divorce in 1978 while sharing custody of their children. During this period, she secured her most iconic role as Major Anya Amasova in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). In the late 1970s, she further solidified her status in Italian cinema and earned the tag "Queen of the B Movies."
In 1980, Barbara met Ringo Starr on the set of Caveman, and they soon became romantically involved, marrying in 1981. The couple faced challenges in the following years, including substance abuse, which led them to seek rehabilitation in 1988. After stepping back from her acting career, Barbara earned a Master’s degree in psychology from UCLA and devoted her time to charitable endeavors.
