Nacho Vigalondo

Ignacio Vigalondo Palacios, widely known as Nacho Vigalondo, was born on April 6, 1977, and is a prominent Spanish filmmaker recognized for his innovative storytelling and genre-blending techniques. He first garnered international attention with his 2003 short film, *7:35 in the Morning*, which depicts a chilling scenario involving a suicide bomber in a café. This eight-minute film earned several prestigious nominations, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Film, as well as accolades like the Bronze Moon of Valencia and the Prix UIP Drama.

In 2007, Vigalondo completed his debut feature film, *Los Cronocrímenes* (also known as *Timecrimes*), where he not only directed but also took on an acting role. Following this, he explored the realm of science fiction with *Extraterrestre*, a Spanish-language film about an alien invasion released in 2011. That same year, he was set to direct an adaptation of Mark Millar's *Supercrooks*.

Between 2012 and 2014, Vigalondo contributed to various anthology horror projects, including *The ABCs of Death*, *The Profane Exhibit*, and *VHS: Viral*. In 2014, he made his English-language debut with *Open Windows*, a techno-thriller that showcased his distinctive style.

His most notable work, *Colossal*, released in 2016, creatively subverted the Kaiju genre while paying homage to the Godzilla legacy. Vigalondo’s latest project, *Pooka*, debuted in December 2018 as part of Hulu's *Into the Dark* series, further establishing his reputation as a versatile and inventive filmmaker.
