Daniel Howell
Daniel "Dan" James Howell is a prominent British vlogger and radio host celebrated for his YouTube channel, "Daniel Howell," formerly known as "danisnotonfire." Born and raised in the UK, Howell began his journey at the University of Manchester in 2010, where he pursued a law degree. However, he chose to leave academia to focus on his passion for video blogging.
Since August 2011, Howell has shared his living space with fellow YouTuber Phil Lester, and in July 2012, the duo relocated to London, where they later built a home together. Their creative partnership flourished in 2015 with the release of their co-authored book, "The Amazing Book Is Not on Fire" (TABINOF), which quickly climbed to the top of the Sunday Times Bestsellers list and garnered the #1 spot on the New York Times Bestselling young adult hardcover list shortly after its launch.
That same year, Howell and Lester captivated audiences with their theatrical production, "The Amazing Tour Is Not on Fire" (TATINOF), which concluded at the iconic London Palladium before heading to the US, marking a historic milestone as the largest tour by YouTube creators.
In June 2019, Howell publicly came out as queer in a candid video titled "Basically I’m Gay," underscoring his commitment to LGBTQ+ advocacy. His first solo book, "You Will Get Through This Night," co-written with psychologist Dr. Heather Bolton, was published on May 18, 2021, providing a practical guide to mental health. In 2022, he showcased his solo performance with "We’re All Doomed!" and continues to engage audiences through the "Dan and Phil Games" channel alongside Lester.
