Stacy Ann Ferguson, more widely recognized by her stage name Fergie, was born on March 27, 1975. She is a multifaceted American artist who has made her mark as a singer-songwriter, fashion designer, television personality, and actress. Fergie first gained prominence as a cast member on the children's television show Kids Incorporated, and later as a member of the girl group Wild Orchid. She rose to international fame as the lead vocalist for the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas, contributing to their global success on music charts.

In 2001, she departed from Wild Orchid and joined The Black Eyed Peas, where she played a pivotal role in the group’s string of hit albums and singles. Her first solo album, The Dutchess, was released in September 2006, producing five top five hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including three number one singles. The Black Eyed Peas further solidified their success with their third album featuring Fergie, titled The E.N.D., which marked their first series of number one tracks.

In 2009 and 2010, she toured with her group and introduced her debut fragrance, Outspoken, under the Avon brand in May 2010. The Black Eyed Peas released another successful album, The Beginning, in November 2010, which included multiple chart-topping singles. By early 2011, Fergie had achieved a remarkable feat, with five solo singles and six singles from The Black Eyed Peas each surpassing two million downloads in the U.S., making her the artist with the highest number of two-million sellers at that time.
