Pierre-François Martin-Laval, commonly referred to as "PEF," is a prominent French figure in the realms of acting, film directing, screenwriting, and theatre direction. Renowned in France for his engaging performances in both musical comedies and dramatic productions, PEF developed his craft at the esteemed Cours Florent, a renowned acting school in France. It was during his time there that he formed lasting friendships with fellow performers, leading to the establishment of the comedy troupe 'Les Robins des Bois' (The Robins Hood) in 1996. Originally named The Royal Imperial Green Rabbit Company, the group opted for a name change following their breakthrough success with the play Robins des Bois.
Les Robins des Bois made their television debut on La Grosse Emission, a popular program on the Comédie! channel, where they showcased an array of short, humorous skits that captivated audiences. Their unique style and comedic talent quickly garnered them a loyal following, paving the way for their appearances in various French films. PEF's contributions to both theatre and film have solidified his status as a significant figure in the French entertainment industry, showcasing his versatility and dedication to the performing arts.
