Alex Nibley, a native of Provo, Utah, cultivated a deep passion for the performing arts from a young age. His journey in theater began at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, where he immersed himself in acting, directing, and arts administration. After honing his skills, he transitioned into a teaching role at the Conservatory, eventually taking on the position of associate director.

Nibley later moved to Los Angeles, where he studied film analysis and screenwriting under the esteemed educator Franišek “Frank” Daniel. This experience would shape his future endeavors. In 2002, he returned to Utah and began imparting Daniel’s filmmaking techniques at Utah Valley University (UVU). Over the next twenty years, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Digital Media Department, developing comprehensive programs such as the Film Production Analysis curriculum, a major emphasis in Writing for Digital Media, and a minor in Writing for Entertainment Media.

Nibley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Radio & Television from the University of Utah and a Master of Fine Arts from the American Conservatory Theater. Beyond his academic contributions, he remains active in the industry as an actor, writer, and director, with notable works including "Field of Honor" (2016), "Thorpe," and "H8RZ" (2015). His diverse talents have made a significant impact on both his students and the broader creative community.
