Károly Gesztesi
Károly Gesztesi, born on April 16, 1963, in Budapest, is a prominent Hungarian actor and voice actor, renowned for his extensive contributions to the performing arts. After completing his studies at the University of Theatre and Film Arts, he joined the Thália Theatre Company from 1988 to 1990. Following this period, he ventured to the Netherlands for a few months, before returning to Hungary to perform at the Miskolc National Theatre during the 1990-1991 season.
Gesztesi was also a member of the József Attila Theatre troupe from 1992 to 1993 and spent four years at the Vígszínház company from 1994 to 1998. Since 1998, he has worked as a freelance actor and is an active member of the actor's ensemble. Renowned for his voice work, he is particularly well-known for voicing the lead character, Shrek, in the Hungarian version of the beloved animated film.
In his personal life, Gesztesi has been divorced and is the proud father of four children, including his eldest son, Máté Gesztesi, who has followed in his father’s footsteps into the world of acting. Károly Gesztesi continues to be a significant figure in Hungarian theatre and film, admired for his versatility and talent.
