Heike Makatsch
Heike Makatsch was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, to Rainer Makatsch, a former goaltender for the German national ice hockey team. In 1988, she spent several months in New Mexico to enhance her English skills. Following her return, she pursued studies in politics and sociology at the University of Düsseldorf for four semesters before embarking on an apprenticeship as a dressmaker, which she completed in 1994.
Her foray into television began in 1993 when she joined the music channel VIVA, hosting popular shows such as Interaktiv and Heikes Hausbesuche. By August 13, 1995, she had taken on the role of host for BRAVO TV, a German chart show broadcast on RTL II, a position she held until the summer of 1996. In 1997, she launched her own late-night program, the Heike Makatsch Show, but it was short-lived, being canceled after just eight episodes due to low ratings.
Makatsch made her film debut in 1996 with Detlev Buck's Männerpension (English: "Jailbirds"), earning the Bavarian Film Award for Most Talented Young Actor for her role. Since then, she has built a diverse career, appearing in numerous productions in both German and English.
