Madan Mitra, born on December 3, 1954, is a prominent Indian politician, singer, and actor hailing from West Bengal. His political journey began with the Indian National Congress, where he held various roles within the Indian Youth Congress, the party's youth division. In 1998, he transitioned to the Trinamool Congress, a party established by Mamata Banerjee, where he would make significant strides in his political career.
