Laura Lakshmi

Laura Lakshmi McDonald, born on November 6, 1995, in New Delhi, India, possesses a rich cultural heritage that encompasses Scottish-Australian, Italian, and Finnish roots. When she was just a child, her family relocated to Sydney, Australia, where she began her educational journey and discovered her passion for performance through classical ballet. At the tender age of six, a significant move took her family to Beijing, China, where she attended a bilingual primary school and transitioned from ballet to competitive swimming.

After returning to Sydney, Laura delved into languages, studying French and German, while her passion for theatre blossomed. This dedication earned her a scholarship from the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) to participate in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. In 2015, she was accepted into the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where she honed her acting skills, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting in 2017.

Laura's career took off in 2018 when she showcased her talent on stage before transitioning to screen work. Notably, she portrayed Inez in the adaptation of Michael Robotham's novel, "The Secrets She Keeps," produced by Lingo Pictures, which aired on Network Ten in 2020. Laura continues to captivate audiences with her diverse talents and dedication to the craft of acting.
