Tõnu Saar

Tõnu Saar (August 6, 1944 – July 12, 2022) was a prominent Estonian actor whose contributions to the performing arts left a lasting impact on the Estonian cultural landscape. He completed his studies at the Tallinn State Conservatory's Department of Performing Arts in 1972, marking the beginning of his illustrious career in acting.

Before stepping into the world of theatre, Saar honed his artistic skills as a photographer from 1963 to 1968. Following his graduation, he joined the Estonian Youth Theatre, where he showcased his talent from 1972 to 1980. His remarkable performances during this period established him as a notable figure in the theatrical community.

In 1980, Saar transitioned to the Estonian Drama Theatre, where he remained until 1998. His versatility allowed him to thrive in various roles, captivating audiences with his compelling portrayals. In addition to his extensive work in theatre, Saar also made significant contributions to film and television, appearing in numerous productions that further showcased his artistic range.
