Joon Park
Joon Park, born Park Joon-Hyung on July 20, 1969, is a prominent Korean-American singer, actor, and rapper best known for his role in the popular K-pop group G.O.D. (Groove Over Dose). Raised in Westminster, California, he graduated from La Quinta High School and later attended California State University, Long Beach, where he studied graphic design. His journey into the entertainment industry began unexpectedly when a casting agent discovered him while he was in Hollywood for a Janet Jackson music video, marking his entry into television.
In pursuit of a music career, Joon relocated to Seoul, South Korea, where he assembled G.O.D. with friends and family. The group achieved immense popularity after releasing their debut album in 1998, followed by a successful second album. Their rise to fame was further bolstered by a reality show on MBC that showcased the band's dynamics alongside an infant, captivating audiences nationwide.
Joon Park's acting career took off with his role in the SBS sitcom "Soon Poon San Boo In Kua," where he played the boyfriend of actress Song Hye Gyo. This performance gained him considerable recognition for his unique Eurasian looks and charm. Following G.O.D.'s disbandment, Joon returned to Los Angeles, where he made several notable television appearances, including a role in the planned spin-off web series of "Friday Night Lights," which is set to include crossovers with NBC's "Parenthood."
