Mikaela Hoover, born on July 12, 1984, is an accomplished actress from the United States. With roots in Iranian, Italian, and Spanish heritage, she grew up in Colbert, Washington. Beginning her journey in the performing arts at just two years old, Mikaela took dance lessons, participated in school productions, and featured in local commercials during her childhood. She later pursued her passion for theater at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where she earned her bachelor's degree.

Hoover made her film debut in 2007 with the movie Frank and soon landed a prominent role in the series Sorority Forever. Her big break came when she auditioned for James Gunn, which led to her part in Humanzee and subsequently the lead in the Xbox series Sparky & Mikaela, produced by Gunn and Peter Safran.

In 2010, she transitioned to American television with a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother and later featured in Gunn's film Super. The following year, she played Jackie in the series Happy Endings and appeared in Anger Management in 2012. In 2013, she had roles in Two and a Half Men and The League, followed by a part in Saint George in 2014.

Continuing her collaboration with Gunn, she portrayed Nova Prime's assistant in Guardians of the Galaxy and appeared in The Belko Experiment. In 2017, she was seen in 2 Broke Girls, The Guest Book, and Lucifer. More recently, she has acted in The Suicide Squad, Lionsgate's Guest House, and Netflix's Holidate in 2020. In 2021, she starred in Love Hard, and she is set to play Cat Grant in the forthcoming DC Studios Superman film directed by James Gunn.
