Taya Smith, hailing from the picturesque far north coast of New South Wales, Australia, is a prominent figure in the Hillsong creative team. Her powerful vocals in popular tracks like "Oceans" and "Touch The Sky" have resonated deeply with worshippers worldwide through UNITED’s acclaimed albums, *Empires* and *Zion*.

Taya's journey in worship began in Lismore, where she was actively involved in the worship team and served as a youth leader. In 2010, her move to Sydney for secular singing opportunities led her to Hillsong Church's City Campus. There, she volunteered in the youth and young adult ministries, as well as the church’s creative team. Her dedication to worship and youth ministry soon aligned perfectly when she joined the youth worship collective, Young & Free. This involvement included contributing to their debut album and participating in various tours.
