Sharon Cuneta
Sharon Gamboa Cuneta-Pangilinan, born on January 6, 1966, is a prominent Filipina actress, singer, television host, and socialite. Known as the "Megastar," she stands out as one of the most successful and highest-earning figures in the Philippine entertainment scene. Cuneta’s extensive career includes leading roles in over 60 films, hosting more than 10 television programs, and releasing upwards of 40 music albums. She has received numerous honors throughout her career, including several FAMAS, MMFF, and Awit Awards for her work as an actress, host, and recording artist.
In addition to her performances, Cuneta has taken on judging roles in various singing competitions, such as "Star Power: Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar," "Your Face Sounds Familiar," and as a mentor on ABS-CBN's "The Voice Kids Philippines" and "The Voice Teens Philippines."
Born in Santa Mesa, Manila, Sharon is the daughter of Pablo Cuneta, a long-serving mayor of Pasay, and Elaine Gamboa, who was related to actress Helen Gamboa. She grew up surrounded by music, influenced by her mother's background in piano. Her early forays into the entertainment industry began with appearances alongside her aunt and later performances on television, including a notable debut on Ike Lozada's show.
Cuneta received her education at St. Paul College in Pasig and the International School Manila. At just 12 years old, she made her first recording with Vicor Records, leading to her first television appearance promoting her debut single, "Tawag Ng Pag-Ibig," on the popular show "Discorama." Her subsequent hit, "Mr. DJ," solidified her status in the music industry.
