Pernell Walker
Pernell Walker, born on September 19, 1980, is a talented American actress celebrated for her powerful roles across film, television, and theater. Originating from the South Bronx, Walker pursued her passion for acting by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from City College, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the prestigious Actors Studio Drama School.
Walker's career took flight with her noteworthy performance as Laura in the acclaimed film Pariah (2011), directed by Dee Rees. This role not only earned her widespread recognition but also cemented her reputation in the independent film scene. Demonstrating her range, she took on memorable roles in popular television series such as The Deuce (2017–2019), where she played Ruby "Thunder Thighs," and City on a Hill (2021–2022) as Grace Campbell.
