Aarti Mann
Aarti Mann, born Aarti Majumdar in March 1978 in Connecticut, is a talented American actress renowned for her work in various television series, including a memorable role in "The Big Bang Theory" and the sci-fi drama "Heroes." She hails from a Bengali Hindu family and, after moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a child, she was raised in Mt. Lebanon and Wexford before settling in Fox Chapel. Tragically, her father passed away during her high school years. Her mother, Vasanti Majumdar, is an obstetrician/gynecologist at UPMC Passavant.
Mann completed her education at Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel and later pursued film studies at New York University. Influenced by her sister Kruti, a filmmaker based in Los Angeles, Aarti transitioned into acting. Kruti cast her in the 2006 film "The Memsahib," which sparked Aarti's passion for performance, leading her to enroll in acting classes in Los Angeles.
She soon landed a national commercial for Volvo, paving the way for more roles, including the web series "quarterlife," which briefly aired on NBC in 2008. In 2009, she made an appearance on "Heroes" and later featured in the winter premiere of "Suits" on the USA Network. Although initially cast as Stephanie in the pilot "Paging Dr. Freed," she was ultimately released from the role after the network sought a different character type.
