Dakore Egbuson-Akande

Dakore Egbuson-Akande, born Dakore Omobola Egbuson on October 14, 1978, is a prominent Nigerian actress known for her impactful presence in the film industry. She has served as an ambassador for several notable organizations, including Amnesty International, Amstel Malta, and Oxfam America, leveraging her platform to advocate for social justice and humanitarian causes.

Born in Bayelsa State, Dakore is the eldest of her parents' children. She received her early education at Corona School and the Federal Government Girls' College in Lagos and Bauchi, respectively. Although she pursued a degree in mass communication at the University of Lagos, her studies were interrupted by frequent strikes, prompting her to leave the program. Today, she is happily married and is a mother of two.

In September 2019, Dakore was prominently featured in the Visual Collaborative electronic catalogue's issue themed "Vivencias," which means "Experiences" in Spanish. This edition highlighted her alongside 30 global figures, including Kelli Ali and Adelaide Damoah. Following this, her interview was republished in May 2020 as part of the "TwentyEightyFour" series, which emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic and also featured artists like French duo Les Nubians and Nigerian comedian Chigul.
