Steven M. Greer
Steven Macon Greer, born on June 28, 1955, in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a prominent American ufologist and retired physician. He is best known for establishing the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI) and the Disclosure Project, both of which advocate for the release of classified information related to unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
Greer’s fascination with extraterrestrial phenomena began at a young age when he reported witnessing a UFO up close at just eight years old. This early encounter sparked a lifelong interest in the subject. Alongside his ufological pursuits, Greer trained as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation and held a leadership role in a meditation organization.
Academically, he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Appalachian State University in 1982, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree from the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University in 1987. After completing his internship at MAHEC University of North Carolina in 1988, he became a licensed physician in Virginia in 1989. That same year, he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, recognizing his academic excellence in medicine.
Through his work with CSETI and the Disclosure Project, Greer has played a pivotal role in advocating for transparency regarding UFO-related information, making significant contributions to the field of ufology.
