David Banner, born Lavell William Crump on April 11, 1974, is a multifaceted American rapper, music producer, and occasional actor, standing at 6'2". He earned his bachelor's degree from Southern University before furthering his education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he pursued a master's degree.

Banner initially made his mark in the music scene as part of the hip-hop duo Crooked Lettaz. He embarked on a solo career in 2000, debuting with the album *Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1*.
