Hermann Vallentin (May 24, 1872 – September 18, 1945) was a distinguished German actor hailing from Berlin. Born to Felix Vallentin, a Jewish timber merchant, he was the elder sibling of renowned actress Rosa Valetti. Vallentin honed his craft at the Royal Theatre in Berlin under the guidance of Max Grube and Hans Oberländer before making his professional debut at the Central-Theatre in Berlin during the 1895/96 season. Following this, he graced various stages across Berlin, earning acclaim for his performances.

In 1914, Vallentin transitioned into film, where he predominantly portrayed patriarchal roles, authoritative figures, and occasionally, small-minded characters. His notable performance came in the 1931 film adaptation of "Der Hauptmann von Köpenick," where he portrayed Adolph Wormser, a tailor entangled in the tale of a con artist.

The rise of the Nazi regime in 1933 marked a turning point in Vallentin's career, forcing him to leave Germany for Czechoslovakia, where he continued to perform on German-language stages in Ústí and Prague. By 1938, he had relocated to Switzerland, taking on roles at the Stadttheater Basel and the Schauspielhaus Zürich. In 1939, Vallentin emigrated to Mandatory Palestine and settled in Tel Aviv. Despite the language barrier preventing him from acting, he remained active as a lecturer, poetry reader, and occasional news anchor for the Palestine Broadcasting Service. Vallentin passed away in Tel Aviv in 1945, at the age of 73.
