Loene Carmen

Loene Carmen is a multifaceted Australian artist celebrated for her talents as a singer-songwriter, musician, producer, author, and actress. Her journey in the entertainment industry began at the young age of sixteen when she was discovered while working at a pizza bar in Kings Cross. This chance encounter led to her casting in the critically acclaimed film The Year My Voice Broke (1987), where she portrayed the enigmatic Freya Olson. Carmen's performance earned her a nomination for the Australian Film Institute's Best Actress award, solidifying her reputation as one of the finest interpreters of complex female characters in Australian cinema.

Born into a musical family, Carmen is the daughter of renowned rock-jazz-blues pianist Peter Head, who founded The Mount Lofty Rangers. In 1990, she welcomed her daughter Holiday Sidewinder, who has followed in her footsteps as a singer-songwriter, during a relationship with American bullfighter Jeremy Sparks. Since 2014, Carmen has been married to actor Aden Young, with whom she shares two children.
