Johnny Dorelli, born Giorgio Guidi on February 20, 1937, in Meda, Italy, is a prominent figure in the Italian entertainment industry, known for his talents as an actor, singer, and showman.

Dorelli's musical career began in the late 1950s when he signed with the CGD label. He gained national recognition in 1958 by winning the prestigious Sanremo Festival alongside Domenico Modugno with the iconic songs "Nel blu dipinto di blu" (famously known as "Volare") and "Piove (Ciao ciao bambina)." His performance of "L'immensità" at the 1967 Sanremo Song Festival secured him a notable ninth-place finish.

One of Dorelli's most celebrated achievements is his leading role in the musical Aggiungi un posto a tavola, which not only captivated audiences in Italy but also found success in London’s West End under the title Beyond the Rainbow in 1978.

After a hiatus from the spotlight, Dorelli made a comeback in the 1980s, starring as St. Philip Neri in Luigi Magni's television film State buoni se potete in 1983. His most recent film appearance was in Pupi Avati's Ma quando arrivano le ragazze in 2004.

Dorelli's personal life includes two previous marriages to actresses Lauretta Masiero and Catherine Spaak (1972-1979), and he is currently married to Gloria Guida, a former actress, marking a rich and varied life both on and off the stage.
