Nana Visitor

Nana Visitor, born Nana Tucker on July 26, 1957, in New York City, is a prominent American actress celebrated for her role as Kira Nerys in the acclaimed television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as well as for portraying Jean Ritter in Wildfire. Hailing from a family deeply rooted in the arts, she is the daughter of ballet teacher Nenette Charisse and choreographer Robert Tucker, and she is also the niece of the legendary actress and dancer Cyd Charisse.

In 1996, while filming Deep Space Nine, Visitor's personal life intersected with her professional one when she became pregnant by her co-star Alexander Siddig, also known as Siddig el-Fadil. This development was creatively woven into the show’s narrative, beginning with the fourth season episode "Body Parts," which aired in June 1996. Visitor welcomed her son, Django El Tahir El Siddig, during the production of the episode "The Assignment." Interestingly, her character's pregnancy continued on-screen until the fifth season episode "The Begotten," which debuted in January 1997. Visitor and Siddig married in June 1997 but divorced in April 2001.

In early 2002, Visitor became engaged to Matthew Rimmer, who served as the company manager for the musical Chicago, and the couple celebrated their marriage in April 2003.
