April Jeanette Mendez, born on March 19, 1987, is a prominent American wrestler and author, best known in the wrestling world as AJ Lee. As of September 2025, she is actively competing with WWE, showcasing her talent and charisma in the ring.

Mendez embarked on her wrestling journey in 2007, making her mark in the independent circuits of New Jersey. Her significant breakthrough came in 2009 when she signed with WWE, leading her to spend two years honing her skills at Florida Championship Wrestling before being elevated to the main roster. 2012 marked a pivotal year for AJ, as she captivated audiences with her “mentally unstable” persona, engaging in dramatic storylines that included notable relationships and a memorable three-month tenure as the General Manager of Raw.
